Volunteering with the Allegheny Land Trust, Pittsburgh, PA

In September 2024, a group of staff members from our Pittsburgh studio partnered with the Allegheny Land Trust to plant 70 native trees and shrubs in the Buena Vista Heights Conservation Area. This carbon credit project, part of our 2023 carbon offset portfolio, was selected not only for its environmental impact, but also for its hands-on community engagement.

Inspired by this activity, our Pittsburgh volunteers have continued to partner with the trust. This May, we organized an invasive weed removal event in Bethel Park, a Pittsburgh suburb.

The Pittsburgh initiative reflects one of the principles guiding our carbon offset portfolio: selecting projects that provide measurable environmental benefits, strong local engagement, and meaningful community impact. Each year, we curate our portfolio to include a mix of carbon avoidance and removal credits.
